Memo of Understanding Re: School Resource Officers
Per state law, each local or regional Board of Education that assigns a school resource officer to any school under the jurisdiction of such board shall enter into a memorandum of understanding with a local law enforcement agency regarding the role and responsibility of such school resource officer.  On the link below is the Memorandum Of Understanding regarding East Windsor’s School Resource Officer.

About the superintendent

The role of a superintendent is to oversee and manage the day to day operations of the school system. This includes supervising the operations side – facilities, transportation, food services, and finance – and the academic side – instruction and curriculum. The superintendent hires district office staff, directors, and principals and works with the Board of Education to implement the district’s strategic plan.

Dr. Patrick Tudryn was named superintendent of schools by the Board of Education in August 2021. As superintendent, Dr. Tudryn is the CEO of the school system. His day to day work includes supervising the principals and directors, ensuring the strategic plan and the goals of the community are being met, and above all, doing whatever he can to insure that every student is getting the support she or he needs to find success.

Dr. Tudryn began his career in education as an intern at the Connecticut State Department of Education, collecting and analyzing data from various school districts.  He has also served as an adjunct professor at UMass at Amherst, and at Bay Path University.

His career includes serving as a supervisor at the Gandara Mental Health Agency and teaching special education at Chestnut Accelerated Middle School.

Dr. Tudryn came to East Windsor in 2003 as a special education teacher.  In 2010, he was named assistant principal of East Windsor Middle School, and in 2013 was promoted to Director of Special Education.  From 2017 to 2021, he served as Assistant Superintendent of Student Services.

Dr. Tudryn earned both a bacherlor’s degree (in psychology and special education), and a master’s degree (in education) from American International College. He holds a Doctorate of Education degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Our Superintendent

“Initially, I went into teaching because I wanted to coach. Teaching complimented coaching very well,” Dr. Tudryn said.  “As I started my career, I discovered that I enjoyed teaching even more than coaching.  As a result, I invested more time into my craft as an educator and less on coaching.  Coaching is certainly an extension of teaching, and it’s still a love but just secondary to the classroom education of students. Serving as superintendent allows me to teach our leadership team how to coach our employees to help our students find their success. ”
