The Voice of East Windsor Public Schools

East Windsor High School senior, John Olechnicki, was recently recruited to be the “Voice of East Windsor Public Schools” by EWPS Central Services administration.  John, the son of Mary Olechnicki of Broad Brook, was first discovered by the administration at the EWHS Fifth Annual Poetry Out Loud Recitation Contest on January 30, 2014. As a competitor in the event, his distinguished voice made such an impression that he was asked to record the welcome message on the district automated phone service.

When asked if he had ever considered a career in television or radio broadcasting, John replied, “Honestly, no.  I had never really considered it, though I have been told I’d be good for it.  I certainly never thought I would be asked to become the new automated voice message for my school.”

After John walks the halls of East Windsor High School for the last time in June, he will work throughout the summer months and attend UCONN in September, majoring in anthropology.

Although his presence will be missed, his voice will remain within the district.
